1. NanoFUSE vs DBM in Level 1 ACDF
Following insights from Dr. Seale and reviewer recommendations, we are updating this study to reflect a Level 2 evidence classification. This adjustment ensures scientific integrity and enhances its potential for publication. The paper compares the performance of NanoFUSE to traditional demineralized bone matrix (DBM) in anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) procedures.
2. Biomechanics of Lumbar Lateral Interbody Fixation (Vito Lore et al.)
This paper investigates the biomechanical differences between various fixation strategies used in lateral interbody fusion, including pedicle screws, facet screws, and spinous process plates. It is a timely addition to the growing body of evidence supporting procedural decision-making in lumbar spine surgery.
3. Lumbar Interspinous Process Anatomy
This anatomy-focused manuscript provides insight into lumbar interspinous process morphology and its implications for device placement and surgical access. It supports surgical planning and highlights anatomical considerations crucial to safe and effective interspinous device deployment.
II. Educational Tools: Research Presentation Decks
To enhance the accessibility and dissemination of our published data, we are building a comprehensive library of PowerPoint decks. These presentations are designed for internal training, physician education, and scientific conferences, helping translate research findings into clinical practice.
Out of a total of 39 planned decks, 37 have been completed, with the final 2 scheduled for completion this week. These cover all our core spine technologies:
· AxioMed – 13 decks completed
· FacetFUSE – 4 decks completed; 2 in final formatting
· InSpan – 4 decks completed
· NanoFUSE – 7 decks completed
· Sacrix – 6 decks completed
· InVUE Max – 1 deck completed
· SoloFUSE – 2 decks completed
Each presentation distills key findings from peer-reviewed publications, offering concise visuals and clinical insights tailored for physician users and key opinion leaders.
Conclusion
Our commitment to advancing spine care through rigorous research and impactful education remains at the heart of our mission. By combining clinical evidence with user-friendly tools, we empower physicians to make data-informed decisions that improve patient outcomes. With multiple manuscripts under review and a near-complete educational library, KIC Ventures continues to lead the charge in evidence-based innovation.
